It has been a while since I have read a Jodi Picoult book. She is a good author, but can be deep. This book is no exception.
Handle With Care is her newest book (Was released on 3-3-09). It is about a family who has a child with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which is a bone disorder that makes your bones fragile. The book shows how the parents and sister deal with the disability.
Like all her other books Jodi makes it thought provoking by putting in a trial. This book shows what it is to go through a wrongful birth lawsuit. It makes you think about how you want to live and what life is really about and what makes a good life. It is a touchy topic, but I thought Jodi handled it very well. I found myself going back and forth throughout the whole book.
There were other subplots throughout the whole book with all the characters. I loved the character development and felt that I really was able to get into each one and see what made them tick and why.
The ending was a little abrupt just as a warning, but one I didn't see coming.
I give it a 4 our 5.
